As Tourism Coordinator, Nick assists the Tourism department in promoting Sacramento as a tourist destination to tour operators, travel agents, group leaders and wholesalers. Nick has a wealth of information about the city, including where the Beach Boys recorded a live album, quickest way to get through downtown on a Friday night and where to get the best burger Sacramento has to offer.
Before joining the SCVB, Nick worked in and around the Sacramento media industry as a researcher, editorial assistant, and writer. He holds a degree in Media Communications from Sacramento State University where he also minored in English. In addition to being an avid blogger and music aficionado with an ironic appreciation of Patrick Swayze, Nick also dons the title “Coach Nick” for the SCVB staff softball team, the Solid Gold Hits.
