Tom Bennett

The Convention and Tourism sales teams have all been overseen by Tom Bennett since 2000. As Vice President of Sales and Services, Bennett is ultimately responsible for ‘closing the deal.’ He leads a staff of 19, including the director of convention sales, director of tourism, national sales managers, and has a host of sales and sales-related duties. These include, in addition to the day-to-day operations, determining the convention and tourism booking goals, hosting clients and client-related events, and managing the relationships with the hotels and hotel sales staffs.
Prior to joining the SCVB, Bennett served as Director of Convention Sales for the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau, and held various sales positions with the Long Beach Convention & Visitor Bureau and GES Exposition Services.
Bennett is a Lansing, Michigan, native and a graduate of Cal State Fullerton. When not on business travel, he enjoys spending time with his family; hosting family and friends, cooking and playing golf.
