Ruth Chambers

Ruth is one of three part time staff who tries to answer all the questions visitors have when they visit Old Sacramento. The questions range from “Where are the big trees?” to “Where is the bathroom?” Her favorite question is, “What’s the Capitol of Sacramento?”
In the past Ruth produced community musicals, was a news photographer and coordinated a homeless shelter. Most of her time now is spent with the Historic Old Sacramento Foundation as a tour guide in period attire, giving school presentations and doing Gold Rush puppet shows. In her spare time Ruth volunteers at the State Railroad Museum and attends Sacramento Convention and Visitors Bureau functions.
